||Blue Hour on Buffalo Bayou
||June 2013 / Special Assignment “Nocturnal Exposure”/ First Place
||Sabine Street Bridge, Houston, TX
|Reason For Making the Image
||The Sabine Street bridge has a great view of downtown, and I wanted to capture the twilight hours on a clear blue evening. The blue of the sky along with the lights from the Bayou wrap the city skyline in a peaceful blue. The accent lights along the bayou shift between blue and white according to the moon phases. This night the lights were full of blue.
This image is composed of 9 exposures spaced 1 stop apart. I combined the images in Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 software, made normal adjustments in Lightroom 4, and painstakingly removed a large obnoxious street light in front of the Heritage Plaza with final adjustments in Photoshop CS6.
