There are a number of reasons to join the Houston Photographic Society. Not only do our members enjoy excellent camaraderie with fellow photo enthusiasts, there are people with all sorts of knowledge and experience on hand to help you, collaborate with you, network, or simply share an enthusiasm for the photographic arts.
Monthly program meetings feature a program night (second Tuesday of the month) and a photo competition (fourth Tuesday of the month). The program nights can feature esteemed guest speakers, instructional sessions related to photography, and more. The photo competitions are critiques provided by highly respected and qualified judges in the photography field.
Members can also participate in organized local and distant field shoots, an annual juried exhibit with guest judges, and our annual portfolio revue by gallery owners and curators.
