Location The Netherlands
Reason For Making the Image

My wife and I were in Amsterdam on a river cruise and took this photograph on the way to the Keukenhof Gardens.  I liked the flowers merging in the distance and was able to get this before they cut the heads of the flowers off so they can market the Tulip bulbs later in the year.

Title Private Balconies
Category Special Assignment – Structure
Location New Orleans
Reason For Making the Image Went to photograph a decaying apartment complex whose large-scale graffiti is already famous for its splendor and spotted this unit that had none of the prized art work. This unit had already been stripped of all building ornamentation, and I was struck by the stark nature of the balconies protruding from each unit. The Structure special assignment came to mind and I wanted to capture this view of a unit that was once a really special place to live!

Reason For Making the Image This is my photo of a sculpture exhibit that was on display in Discovery Green.  The title of this exhibit is “Wings of the City”.   While there are many photos of this exhibit, my intent was to capture my own unique perspective, highlighting the texture, lines, and bronze color contrasted against the cloudy sky.
