Year-End Results – 2007

On Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, the Houston Photographic Society announced the year-end print competition winners. These were selected out of all placings in all categories during the course of the 2007 monthly competitions (1st, 2nd and 3rd places). The year-end winning photos posted on the right. In addition, two HPS members were presented with trophies for achievements and honors including Jim Fife and Rachel Burychka.

Jim Fife received The President’s Lifetime Service Award from outgoing HPS President Tim J Harris. This special award honors Jim for his generous commitment of time, support and inspiration to photographers in the greater Houston area over the past four decades. Jim has been a member of HPS for more than 30 years. Congratulations and thank you, Jim.

Rachel Burychka received the yearly award for high points in Special Assignment photos. The award’s verbiage includes, “Houston Photographic Society Presents to Rachel Burychka The Society’s Award for Excellence in Photography 2007.” Congratulations, Rachel and good job!
