You are invited to participate in the following exhibit…

Houston Photographic Society: Award Winning Images of 2019

The photographs in this exhibition were created by members of the Houston Photographic Society. They include a wide range of subjects and are among those chosen by independent judges to be the best submittals in the group’s monthly print competitions for the calendar year 2019. The Houston Photographic Society is one of the oldest photo clubs in the Houston area. HPS members strive to improve the artistry of their photography while enjoying the camaraderie of their peers in a social setting that includes print competitions, informative presentations, field trips, photo walks, and other activities.

You are eligible to have your framed print(s) considered for exhibition in the main lobby of the downtown Houston Public Library if:

 You won an award in the 2019 Annual Print Competition, or
 You won a 1st place, 2nd place, or 3rd place, or Honorable Mention award in one of the monthly (January through November) Print Competitions in 2019.
  (Final Selection of prints to be exhibited will be determined by the HPS Executive Council
   based on available exhibit space and a prioritization of images that were awarded
   1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, or Honorable Mention ribbons during the year.)

If you want to exhibit, you must submit the following information to

no later than 9:00pm on Tuesday February 11, 2020:

 Artist
 Title of Print
 Print Size (horizontal and vertical, inches)
 Frame Size (horizontal and vertical, inches; ideal size 16” x 20”, maximum size 22” x 28”)
 Artist Website (optional, if applicable)
 Artist e-mail (optional, if applicable)

If you wish to exhibit, each photograph must be submitted in a simple black frame, with glass and appropriate hanging hardware.  Additional details regarding the hanging hardware will follow as we learn more..

The artist’s signature on the matte is optional.

Framed, ready-to-hang artwork must be submitted to Dwight Theall by Wednesday, February 26, 2020 or dropped off at the downtown library before 9:00 am on Setup Day*, Friday, February 28, 2020.

*Setup Day Date and Time is To Be Verified. (Details to follow.)
 Setup is expected to require 6 – 8 individuals and take 4 hours.)
